Sometimes I have to stop myself to take in the sweet moments of summer. Luckily, summer is such a busy time for me, but by the time we get to August and September, it’s over. This year I’ve tried to stop and just take in some sweet things I adore about this time of year.
We haven’t officially taken a vacation this year yet, so we are going to the beach for an entire week in two weeks (I’m jumping up and down just thinking about it!!). With that being said, here are some favorite summer moments so far..
First off, my summer FAV! I don’t know how many watermelons I have cut up this summer so far. I couldn’t resist snapping a photo!
This was a weekend beachtrip with Ben, can’t WAIT for our full week!!
Ok, ok, this is more spring, but it makes me happy.
This also isn’t right from summer, but look at our sweet Emma .. look below to see how much she has grown!!
She modeled for me (dressed up as a boy), for a shoot that will be on the blog soon for my Southern Weddings Ad!! So excited!
Lately, I have devoted some of my time to getting myself organized, setting goals for my business and personal life, and thinking big picture. I’m glad I’m focused on doing this, but it’s nice to have someone layout all out there for you, and explain the best steps you should be taking, and why. So my sweet friend & Studio mate Leigh Pearce, of Leigh Pearce Weddings and myself went to the ISSENC to soak up some of the expertise of smart business building!
If you aren’t familiar with ISS, go check out the website, and GO to an experience!! Stacie Francombe, who created this wonderful experience, provided everything perfectly, as you will see in ALL the detail shots! The two day experience, which took place at the Cotton Room in Durham, covered smart educational topics for your business, and also allowed us to network with so many wonderful vendors from NC as well as other states. Our amazing speakers included award winning event designer Preston Bailey, Editor of Unveiled Magazine Brooke Thomas, Cake Master Jay Qualls, and creator of ISS Stacie Francombe. It was so inspiring to hear their advice, and how they got to where they are now.
I can’t go any further without mentioning all of the amazing vendors that took part in making the experience perfect. The decor and tablescapes were so gorgeous, which were by the talented Erin Mclean Events, and the food, oh my goodness the food was provided by Triangle Catering. Seriously, the chicken and waffles were out of this world. So glad Leigh and I saw a familiar face, Hooman Bahrani of Vesic Photography, who took photos of the whole experience, which can also be found on the ISS website, they are great!! A few other local vendors that provided theor services to make the two days the best it could be were The English Garden, Joe Bunn DJ, Tesh Parekh Live Painting, Heart Stone Films, and CE Rental.
I enjoyed every minute of this, and all of the advice from these wonderful speakers. I loved something Jay Qualls had mentioned, ” 10% is talent, 90% is who you know, and how you treat people.” That is so true, always be nice, and work hard for your goals. If you spend time worrying about others, you will never have time to focus on yourself! I’m so inspired from ISSENC, thank you Stacie!!
So take a look through the photos from our two day experience!
Thank you Hooman, for taking this shot!
Had to mention the AMAZING candy buffet provided by Curlicues & Confections. Who wouldn’t want this at their wedding?!
